We went to Mt. Carmel Shrine in New Manila to extend our condolences to Sis Cleofe. Her hubby, former presiding justice of the Court of Appeals Eubolo Verzola passed away due to a lingering heart ailment.
When we arrived, we entered the first memorial chapel we saw. We didn't recognize anyone so we hung around, hoping to see the sis. A few minutes later, I asked Cha if she'd like to view the casket. Right at that moment, we heard a woman whisper, "sila ba yung mga kaklase ni __?__" to another. Then, Cha pulled me outside. It turned out we were at the wrong wake!
We were still giggling when we found Justice Verzola's wake. I was teary-eyed as I beso the sis. She must have wondered why I was so affected with his husband's death.
We stayed for a little over an hour.
Then we decided to walk the way to Gilmore. Cha lived at 5th St. in her childhood and she was in a nostalgic mood.
We passed by Syglo, Will's videoke bar, in Broadway. Would you believe? I thought Broadway and GMA 7 Studios are one and the same. Tsk tsk tsk! Ignoramus extraordinaire.
We passed by Community of Learners where Cha spent her pre-U.P. years. Now I know why she can deal with me quite well; she had first-hand interaction with special children.
In the cab back to Gale, I received a call from someone who claimed he still loves me but kept on calling me fRoi. Pshhh... yeah right. Ano ka, jap?!?
Cha and I decided to coffee too late. We made up our minds after getting off the cab at Gale. So, we walked all the way to Starbs Podium. No complaints, though. We had a ten-thousand-words-per-minute chikahan galore.
By midnight, we decided to wrap up. We walked together to Megamall. Hey ladies, you want your eye candy to notice you? Ignore him. But of course, this only works when you've been acquainted and are in the same social circle. Won't work in a bar, sorry.
From Megamall, I walked back to Crossing. Mann, I realized I am rather audacious. I passed through Bldg. B's side path where a group of construction workers are, well, working.
I rode an ordinary bus to Coastal Mall because I was waiting for a MIA bus far too long. From KFC, I walked to Tambo where I finally got on my last ride for the night, a Zapote jeep.
Here's the catch:
All these I did on my three-inch stilletos. I swear I heard my feet heave in relief when I got home. I massaged cooling gel on them before putting them to sleep. I pray that appeased them coz I'm afraid that they would curse me until my dying day if they could only speak.
