I am so damn happy she's in Manila now. Her office is proximal to mine and we have the same work hours. It means... what else?! New gimik buddy!!!^_^
To kick off her Manila experience, Dumz, Charm and I took her to 65B. The place was all ours! We talked about the LB days which seem decades ago. [When in fact, it was less than a year ago.] We were saying that that moment at 65B is just like old times. Only thing missing was... videoke!!!
So, we had the machine set up and once it was, we went up to the room. I, of course, had to be the first to sing. My forever winning piece is Madonna's Crazy For You. [Just ask my friends how good my rendition of this is]
I punched in the song number and dropped the P5 coin in the slot. Nothing.
We punched in another song but still, silence.
After twenty pesos worth of songs, I called the ever trusty Ate Irna. Then, I texted Brod Bobby [one of the stockholders of the bar] to complain.
He called me up and asked,"May first timer ba sa inyo?", i.e., if anyone with us is at his/her first time to use the videoke. Yup, it's a baptism of sorts to Lex, right? So, Brod Bobby went,"Ay kaya... ganyan talaga yan [videoke machine] pag may bago e." Of course, I thought it was a joke so I laughed it off. When I shared this to the group, they said they did overhear the waiters talking about it too. Hmmm...
I went downstairs to make a call and heard the machine working. I went up to see Charm and Lex freaking out. The speakers were blaring with music but the TV did not show the lyrics [which is the main function of the videoke].
Hey, what the heck happened?!
Apparently, Charm was kidding around and exclaimed,"In Jesus' Name, tutugtog ka!" after which it did! Man, that's freaky.
A few minutes later, the technician arrived and fixed the darn thing. We sang our hearts out until midnight as if nothing happened. We won't let anything get between us and fun!^_^
